I started the meeting by sharing some images and then brought everyone up to date with our latest initiative, the tie-up with Barnes Artists and The Friends of Barnes Common. I will be letting everyone know by the end of the week when the cut off is for entries and what’s in store after that. The exhibition will be held at St Mary’s Church in Barnes at the end of July for 10 days.
I have decided against encouraging us to do anything as a group for Roehampton Community Week (first week of July). As it happens, the group wasn’t that inspired by the idea and on a personal level, I felt I might be spreading myself a bit thin plus we already have the FOBC/Barnes Artists event to consider. I have also helped the cause by offering my photographic services last week at The Activity Centre. Ati has very kindly offered to help out if asked (I will let you know).
We then moved onto our theme of the month, food – this proved a tasty challenge and something that a few really got their teeth into. Stand outs for me would be Charles and his baguette, Juliette with her rice and Susan with her Orange.
I then brought proceedings to an end after we had decided to adopt Bill’s idea of a theme for next month, Contre-Jour, which is French for ‘against daylight’.
