Greenwich LIP group. March Meeting.

This was a zoom meeting as the Greenwich Gallery was temporarily not available for a gathering.

Kathryn presented an overview of Pictorialism from its roots in the 19^th C. with pinhole cameras and chemical processes, through its spread to Europe, the USA and Australia, the reaction by the forces of ‘straight’ photography, its dormancy through the 20^th C and its reent rebirth as neo-pictorialism being celebrated by the RPS with its “Squaring the Circle” exhibition and book.

The discussion that followed was, as usual, interesting and inconclusive – good fun, though with several interesting images from members of the group.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday 20^th April and will probably be a hybrid – in person at the gallery and zoom 7 – 9. Kathryn wiill chair and Ian will lead a presentation on Gestalt principles in photography.
