Dear All

Good to see everyone this week and be able to catch up after the festive break.

I started the meeting with a look at some fabulous sports pictures from across last year and some wonderful landscape pictures.

We then discussed our exhibition, set for April in the library. Going by last year, I believe there is room for 16/17 of us to present something (allowing for 2 pictures each, one on top of the other), so could all those interested in being involved please let me know as soon as possible so I can firm up on the numbers.

There is a chance we might extend this to around the Church (St Mary’s) after the show comes down, and I will know more on this in the coming couple of weeks.

We then took a look at our theme of the month, Contre Jour, and here is Bill with his picks –

I have run through the photos a couple of times this morning and chosen my favourite, and two runners up.

My favourite is ‘Winters Light’ by Sue. I love the metallic colouration, and the cold feel of it.

There were many that made my long list for top three, but I have chosen as runners up :-

‘ Chairs against the Sun’ by Tim . I like the wide, fresh feel of that sky.

And ‘Hermitage Foreshore’ by Nigel. Contrastingly warm, and lots of interest in the photo. Wish I was there.

In an attempt to change things a bit, my idea for a theme for the next month was 3 fold – we have 3 weeks until the next meeting, so I would like people to choose their best 3 images from either Sunshine/ Rain/ Fog or Frost, hopefully, we will get all these things in the intervening period.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday February 25 at 7pm.

With a little time left at the end of the meeting, I presented a quick look at some of my favourite pictures from last year.

I’m sure I have missed something but that’s it for now – all the best AW
