Dear All

And what a lovely welcome the recent weather has been after all the rain we had during January and February. A lovely turn out too, so well done everyone and we must arrange for the Irish band to come along more often.

I started the meeting with a look at the current position of our upcoming exhibition and where we are.

The Open View will be on 9 April from 6pm.

We then moved onto our theme of the month, kindly supplied by Martin, which was ‘Ubiquitous’ and we all seemed to have fun with this, with several recurring themes and over to Bill for the runners and riders – rather embarrassingly headed by me –

My favourite from the Ubiquitous Gallery :-

Water droplets by Andrew, a great image, I have no idea how he got that bokeh with a phone.

Runners up :-

Fox by Juliette, a beautiful portrait of a beautiful creature.

Lime bikes, by Alastair, a really well framed response to the subject.

Subject for next time.. ‘Vapour’ , (clouds / fog / mist , steam , condensation etc.)

Thanks Bill and to answer his question, a rather nifty £10 macro lens that fits over your phone camera. They are small and a devil to use but great fun.

Being so busy, I sadly hadn’t organised a speaker for this month, for which huge apologies but I did prepare a look at something, which was 20 iconic images, picked by a blogger. There were some obvious inclusions and mostly bangers and something we could all take away when trying to frame our next winning image.

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday 21 April, and if I’m not mistaken our next judge will be Alastair, so good luck there and I look forward to seeing everyone then – all the best and enjoy your photography – regards AW
