Good to see you all last night and glad you enjoyed it – I wonder if we’ll ever get back in the pub once this awful virus has been put to bed, some of you I’m sure prefer this way of doing things?
I started the meeting with news of our exhibition, which has proved a great success. Positively Putney would like it to stay up, which is great but we need to check up on the A3 posters which accompany every picture, as these have only been applied using Sellotape (I will look in on them over the next day or so, as the weather improves, but if someone else could do likewise that would be great – please remember to have some Sellotape with you). We have had some sales and so far raised around £100 for Don’s, so hopefully this might increase with the exhibit staying up. This is in addition to direct donations, which were promoted with every picture.

I then moved onto a couple of items drawn from the internet.

Our theme for the month was ‘hidden gems’ and thank you to everyone for enthusiastically embracing this idea – the stand outs for me would probably be James for his ‘lockdown pictures‘, which were brilliant and took time and effort to produce and an inspiration to us all and Sue O for her Balham High Road shot, sometimes being in the right place at the right time is just a matter of luck, so well done on seeing this (and well done on yet another award/commended, that makes two meetings in a row, so the challenge will be to make it 3!).

Several ideas were put forward for possible themes for February and I will park these for future consideration – as we continue to be locked in and getting out with our cameras is a little more challenging, my idea for February is that everyone chooses their favourite 3 pictures taken in 2020 and submits these; if you take as many as me, probably harder than you think?
