It’s Scorchio!

I hope you are all enjoying the bank holiday and the weather to go with it – wonderful?

I gave the meeting with a quick update on our exhibition and that I would be chasing down the council re permission to put up our pictures on the Embankment.

We then moved onto Nigel’s excellent talk on Ansel Adams and a huge thanks to him for a thoroughly researched pictorial history on the man and his life.

After a break we then moved onto Rodney’s presentation of our latest theme ‘action’ and what an excellent selection we had, really high quality, so well done everyone and over to Charles for his deliberations…

Oh my god what a task for me.

Absolutely impossible to judge as so many images are brilliant including your splashing swans.

However, after a lot of thought I have come up with what I think are some outstanding shots.

My favourites from the ‘Action’ gallery are as follows:

Winner: Nigel’s shot of pelicans is sensational. Love the two pelican beaks open ready to swallow the fish. Perfect timing, composition and beautifully lit. Worthy of an entry to the WildLife annual Photography competition at the Science Museum. Excellent Nigel !

Runner ups : Juliette’s impressionist shot of the rowers gave the feeling of movement and mystery. Very ethereal and soothing ! I loved the colours of the rowers.

Martin’s rugby touch down shot. Perfect mid-air pose and right on the corner flag. Impeccable timing and love the concentration captured of the player.
