I started the meeting with a look at the finalists from this year’s Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition – a very high standard as you would expect and on a personal level I am looking forward to the day I can make it down to the lane in Sussex that won the competition to see it for myself.
An exhibition of the pictures will be touring the country and is at London Bridge Station from 15 November until 9 January.

I brought everyone up to date with our various activities –

The Putney idea to collaborate with Positively Putney across a few shops in Putney has succumbed to my inability to properly focus on it – but to ensure that we keep up the association I shall  probably help them with sharing some of my calendar pictures.

The Barnes Art Fair, which featured 14 of us, was a huge success (the event itself raised over £16,000 overall – how much of that was down to us I am not exactly sure but I hope to have confirmation fairly shortly). A big thanks to Martin for having the wherewithal to take some pictures on the private view evening, just rounding up all the primary figures was a marvel in itself. He then kindly shared these with the organisers. I think we should try and do this exhibition again but that probably means we need to re-think The Putney Exchange – more on that next year.

We moved onto our theme of the month – Still Life, which I personally found to be an excellent challenge and I have much more to learn and just goes to show how far Sue O has come in just 18 months. She kindly shared with us some of her early pictures from the first lockdown and you can see how very quickly she had grasped the essentials. Stand out’s for me would have to be James’s tulips, which are amazing and Bill’s fabulous humour, hence including two of his shots and Martin for his funny pictures, which I have combined as I thought they all needed to be seen.

Our theme for January will be ‘Movement’ and I look forward to seeing everyone in 2022 (blimey) on the evening of the 18th.
