26 members attended the regular in person meeting at Lumen in Tavistock Place on Wednesday 12th February. Four showed selections from their personal projects, and 19 showed their works in progress for the group exhibition ‘Listen’, due to take place at Espacio Gallery in Bethnal Green Road between 14-20th April 2025

Not able to participate last month when the theme was ‘Doors & Windows’, Chris showed a selection of his images of London shop windows and doors in a variety of architectural styles, making intelligent use of reflections, and picking up on interesting street art and quirky detailing

© Nusse Mechthild Belton

Accidentally creating an in-camera double exposure one day, Nusse has pursued this happy accident to create many striking images, using this technique consciously. The project reads like a love letter to London, with well-known tourist sights re-framed in square format, showing us fresh angles on bridges, skyscrapers, and the Thames, both in mono and colour

Janet centred her project ‘out and about’ around the British Museum, capturing details of the architecture and structure, then layering in Photoshop.  She also deliberately uses the intentional movement on a travelling bus, and momentary serendipity to capture further image

Heather exclusively uses a Yashica twin lens film camera for her lovely street photography around places she ‘likes to go’, such as Spitalfields, Brick Lane and Brixton.  The square format black and white images have a timeless, elegant quality, and the Yashica’s waist-level point of view adds an extra layer of interest in these times when so much is shot at human eye level

The next LIP Central London will take place on Wednesday 12th March at Lumen, Tavistock Place.
