Dear All Good to see everyone this week and again, my apologies for having to change the date –

Before we move on, a further thanks to Martin and The Roehampton Club for the donation of the large TV set, which we used this month for the first time and by common consensus was a success. Some of you kindly gave me some money towards e new projector and I will endeavour to get this back to you next meeting (the Coach & Horse are free to use our TV when we are not, in return for setting it up).

With a packed programme, I went straight into discussing our upcoming exhibition. Through one of my connections, the director of the Putney Business Improvement District, Nicola Grant, I have secured some sponsorship for our group in return for displaying our work outside St Mary’s Church in Putney. To try and avoid duplication and further costs etc. I suggested that we present our library pictures on A1 outside boards, ready for use at St Mary’s and showed everyone an example of what I meant. This was agreed but with not long to go, we all need to do the following…

Set up at Putney Library 29/30 March
Printing of our boards 20 March
I will need to provide artwork to our printer, so can everyone please get me the pictures they wish to include as soon as possible – this can be any number of images (but perhaps for impact, I would suggest 3 might be the most) and I will proof back to you once I have laid them out.
As well as your pictures, I also need some biography details that I will be putting on a separate board.

Theme: pictures celebrating Wandsworth Borough – so, Balham, Tooting, Nine Elms, Battersea, Wandsworth, Putney or Roehampton ++++ Southfields anyone?

This is all very exciting but with lots to do, can everyone please help me etc. with some urgency.

Our private view late night evening is set for Wednesday 16 April – more to follow on this.

I think that’s it for the time being but I will be in touch again to those included in the exhibition.

We then moved onto our theme of the month – Sun, Frost, Rain or Fog and over to Sue O for her top three (awfully embarrassing for yours truly but well done Bill, love that image) –

Well, as much as I didn’t want to choose your image ( he he !!) , I do think your Kestrel image is the standout winner. It feels very cold and frosty, with beautiful winter light and colours – and I just love the fluffy feathers!

2nd – Bill’s, Sunshine in Wales. The juxtaposition of the sheep and the grungy phone box on a sunny day epitomises parts of rural Wales.

3rd – Anne’s, Sunlit Deckchairs at Hampton Court Flower Show – an inviting image – I could sit there all day!

Thanks, Sue, for your suggestions for a theme ( I shall keep these for next time) but if you remember, in a change to our convention, I thought it best we just stick to pictures celebrating the borough, to help anyone still looking for local images etc.

After a short break, we thoroughly enjoyed a presentation from Sue about her recent trip to Zanzibar – some brilliant portraits on show and thank you for sharing. I have attached 3 of the stand outs.

We were then set to enjoy some images from Tim’s recent visit to Japan but he sadly had to pull out at the last minute (clash of dates) and this will have to wait until our next meeting. I therefore filled in for him with some images from my recent trip to Lake Kerkini in Greece as part of Tammy Marlar’s Pelican Workshop and boy, what an exhilarating trip it was. Again, I have attached some of the many thousands of images I took.

I think that’s it – our next meting will be on Tuesday 18th March at the usual time.

Thanks one and all and with the good weather predicted all week, good shooting – cheers AW
